Members of the Rotary Club of Pinconning and Standish were proud to volunteer during this year’s Saginaw Bay Nature Festival, where they sorted trees and shrubs at the annual Arenac Conservation District tree and shrub sale.
STANDISH — Catch the auction fever when the Northeast Michigan Arts Council opens the doors for its 38th annual auction Saturday, April 15 at the Northeast Art Center in Standish (corner of Grove Street Rd. and US-23). Auctioneer Richard Martin, of Chesaning, will call the event, which begins at 10 a.m. sharp.

DNR offers off-road accessibility chairs The Michigan Department of Natural Resources, DNR, is currently seeking sponsorship for its track chairs, which enable limited-mobility users to visit areas of state parks that conventional wheelchairs may not be able to access. The off-road, electronic chairs can easily handle trails, snow, sand and even up to 8 inches of water.
989-387-9295 ARENAC COUNTY — Arenac County Drain Commissioner Larry Davis met with commissioners during a recent meeting of the Arenac County Board of Commissioners. With a draft resolution, Davis provided an update to the ACBC on the status of the formation of the Forest Lake–Lake Level Board.
ARENAC COUNTY — The new Veterans’ Affairs Committee has been formed in Standish. Members said their main goals are to help Arenac County veterans as well as reach out to younger veterans throughout the community.
