My mother’s grandmother, my great-grandmother, emigrated from Ireland. My mother inherited her red hair, freckles and light Irish skin. I didn’t get the red hair, but definitely inherited the freckles and fair, easily sunburned skin.
Four Standish-Sterling wrestlers traveled to Ford Field for the 2023 MHSAA State Championship March 3 and 4, with one student taking third in the state in her division. Region 7B, which serves the counties of Arenac, Clare, Gladwin, Iosco, Ogemaw, and Roscommon, partnered with 11 companies throughout its six-county service area to obtain over $1 million in Going PRO Talent Funds for training, developing, and retaining both newly hired and existing employees.
