In Arenac County’s primary election on August 6, every millage on the ballot passed. The Arenac County Veterans Services Program Millage received great support, as did other renewals such as the Road Repair Millage and the EMS Millage.

Township-specific millages for road upgrades, mosquito control, and fire services have also been adopted in Au Gres, Moffatt, and Sims Townships. The Au Gres-Sims Schools Operating Millage Renewal also passed, assuring that the school system would continue to receive funds.

Millage results are as follows:

Arenac County Transportation Proposal:

Passed with 2,107 “Yes” votes against 1,877 “No” votes.

Arenac County Renewal of Road Repair Millage:

Passed with 2,737 “Yes” votes against 1,268 “No” votes.

Arenac County Renewal of Separate Tax Limitations:

Passed with 2,093 “Yes” votes against 1,761 “No” votes.

Arenac County Veterans Services Program Proposal:

Passed with 3,055 “Yes” votes against 936 “No” votes.

Arenac County Renewal of EMS Millage:

Passed with 3,054 “Yes” votes against 958 “No” votes.

Au Gres Township Road Improvement Millage Renewal:

Passed with 200 “Yes” votes against 126 “No” votes.

Au Gres Township Mosquito Control and Suppression Millage Renewal:

Passed with 263 “Yes” votes against 68 “No” votes.

Au Gres Township Road Ditching and Weed Suppression Millage Renewal:

Passed with 221 “Yes” votes against 103 “No” votes.

Deep River Township Mosquito Control and Suppression Renewal:

Passed with 365 “Yes” votes against 134 “No” votes.

Lincoln Township Road Millage Renewal:

Passed with 128 “Yes” votes against 52 “No” votes.

Mason Township Road Improvement Millage Renewal:

Passed with 61 “Yes” votes against 51 “No” votes.

Moffatt Township Fire Millage Proposal:

Passed with 280 “Yes” votes against 102 “No” votes.

Moffatt Township Road Millage Proposal 1:

Passed with 249 “Yes” votes against 134 “No” votes.

Moffatt Township Road Millage Proposal 2:

Passed with 213 “Yes” votes against 150 “No” votes.

Sims Township Millage Renewal for Construction and Improvement of Roads:

Passed with 300 “Yes” votes against 118 “No” votes.

Sims Township Millage Renewal for Gypsy Moth/Mosquito Suppression and Control:

Passed with 386 “Yes” votes against 42 “No” votes.

Turner Township Fire Millage:

Passed with 79 “Yes” votes against 36 “No” votes.

Whitney Township Road Millage Renewal:

Passed with 200 “Yes” votes against 92 “No” votes.

City of Au Gres – Au Gres Sims Whitney Fire and Rescue Authority Proposal:

Passed with 182 “Yes” votes against 67 “No” votes.

Au Gres Township – Au Gres Sims Whitney Fire and Rescue Authority Renewal:

Passed with 262 “Yes” votes against 72 “No” votes.

Sims Township – Au Gres Sims Whitney Fire and Rescue Authority Renewal: Passed with 356 “Yes” votes against 72 “No” votes.

Whitney Township – Au Gres Sims Whitney Fire and Rescue Authority Proposal:

Passed with 212 “Yes” votes against 85 “No” votes.

Au Gres-Sims Schools Operating Millage Renewal:

Passed with 935 “Yes” votes against 370 “No” votes.
