Loyalty Day Parade
The VFW and post #3724 will host its 52nd Loyalty Day Parade on Saturday, April 26 in Standish. “Liberty Sweet Liberty” is the theme of the 2025 parade. Organizers are inviting anyone interested in the procession to sign up as soon as possible. All community members, clubs, organizations, churches, and businesses are welcome. Cash prizes will be awarded for commercial and non-commercial floats.
The parade will assemble at 11 a.m. along Industrial Park Drive next to MyMichigan Health Standish, and proceed at noon along Cedar Street east to the Arenac Community Center. The VFW Post will hold a spaghetti lunch at the Arenac County Veterans Club following the parade.

VFW breakfast
The VFW Post 3724 and Auxiliary will host its next monthly Breakfast Buffet on Sunday, April 13 from 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Arenac County Veterans Club, 3221 M-76 in Standish.
The breakfast includes scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon, French Toast, pancakes, sausage biscuits and gravy, coffee, and juice. There are reduced prices for children over age 5; children under the age of 5 are free.
The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. Funds go towards the VFW Post and Auxiliary.
Fundraiser March 20
The Third Annual Euchre Night Scholarship Fundraiser will be held Thursday, March 20 at the Arenac County Veterans Club, Post 104, at 3221 M-76 in Standish.
The event serves as a fundraiser for a scholarship program, intended for Arenac County high school seniors. The Euchre Night will also collect non-perishable food items for cash donations for the Harvest For All program. Each food or cash donation enters you into a drawing for a prize.
Doors open at 5:15 p.m. with dinner at 5:45 p.m. and cards begin at 6:15 p.m.
Cost is $25 per person and includes a ticket for door prizes. The event will include chicken dinners from Buck’s Country Cooking and coffee and water are included. Cash bar will be available.
