Free Throw Contest

The Knights of Columbus #7717 will host its annual Free Throw Contest on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 12 p.m. at the Au Gres-Sims gymnasium.

Children aged 9-14 are invited to participate. Boys and girls will both participate. Registration forms can be picked up at Au Gres-Sims School District, 310 S. Court St., and St. Mark Catholic Church, 415 S. Court St in Au Gres.

Trivia night

The 14th Annual Trivia Night, hosted by Arenac Community Funds, will be held Saturday, Feb. 15 at Sunrise Community Resource Center, 583 E. Cedar St. in Standish.

Registration is now open. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with trivia starting at at 6:30 p.m.

The event will include prizes, snacks and 20 rounds of trivia. Teams will consist of up to eight people and cost is $200 per team.

The annual fundraiser raises scholarship funds for Arenac County high school graduates attending a Michigan college or trade school. Post-high school applicants are also accepted.
