Local martial arts school Dragon Fire Taekwondo competed in the Michigan's Poomsae Cup Tournament in Midland Michigan that took place on Saturday, Feb. 25.

OGEMAW — Standish-Sterling Central captured the district title with win over Midland Bullock Creek in a boys’ basketball game on Mar. 10, 59-33.

Four Standish-Sterling wrestlers traveled to Ford Field for the 2023 MHSAA State Championship March 3 and 4, with one student taking third in the state in her division. Dannielle Christian won her first two matches of the tournament, both by pin to advance to the semifinals before losing to the eventual State runner-up by fall in the second period.

AU GRES — Au Gres-Sims took down Hale, 43-28, in the girls’ basketball district championship Mar. 3.

MIDLAND — Standish-Sterling Central came out on top, 53-35, in a district championship game against Clare at Bullock Creek Mar. 1.

AU GRES — Au Gres-Sims girls’ basketball team triumphed over Whittemore- Prescott, 42-25, at home Feb. 20.

STANDISH — Standish-Sterling Central boys’ basketball team played Millington at home Feb. 24, winning 64-54.

STANDISH — The Standish-Sterling Central boys basketball team stomped Michigan Lutheran Seminary in a home game Jan. 24, 58-25.
