Taekwondo team competes
Local martial arts school Dragon Fire Taekwondo competed in the Michigan's Poomsae Cup Tournament in Midland Michigan that took place on Saturday, Feb. 25.

OGEMAW — Standish-Sterling Central captured the district title with win over Midland Bullock Creek in a boys’ basketball game on Mar. 10, 59-33.
SSC wrestler places third in state competition
Four Standish-Sterling wrestlers traveled to Ford Field for the 2023 MHSAA State Championship March 3 and 4, with one student taking third in the state in her division. Dannielle Christian won her first two matches of the tournament, both by pin to advance to the semifinals before losing to the eventual State runner-up by fall in the second period.
