The Standish Lady Crushers 10U and 12U softball teams traveled to LaPorte, Indiana to compete in the National Softball Association’s Northern World Series July 15.
The Standish-Sterling Central swimming and diving team opened the season with a pentathlon Aug. 21 at John Glenn High School in Bay City. Swimmers participated in five events to earn a combined total score.

For the first time in history more than 100 boats have finished the AuSable River Canoe Marathon. The event, which took place overnight July 26-27, included 230 competitors from Michigan, 18 other U.S. states, Canada, Great Britain and Beliz, and drew thousands of spectators.
Assuming 18 holes, I played just the front nine. The day was beautiful but my time was short.
Approximately 120 people attended this year’s reunion.
