Lady Crushers win accolades at youth softball World Series
The Standish Lady Crushers 10U and 12U softball teams traveled to LaPorte, Indiana to compete in the National Softball Association’s Northern World Series July 15.
Season opens for Panthers swim & dive
The Standish-Sterling Central swimming and diving team opened the season with a pentathlon Aug. 21 at John Glenn High School in Bay City. Swimmers participated in five events to earn a combined total score.

More than 100 teams complete canoe marathon
For the first time in history more than 100 boats have finished the AuSable River Canoe Marathon. The event, which took place overnight July 26-27, included 230 competitors from Michigan, 18 other U.S. states, Canada, Great Britain and Beliz, and drew thousands of spectators.

Panthers pound Falcons, defeat Pioneers to win District 36 title
The Standish-Sterling Central Baseball team got two wins at home to lock up the District 36 title on May 31.
