AU GRES — Resurfacing on US-23 in Au Gres began at the start of this week on Monday, April 17. The Michigan Department of Transportation, MDOT, announced a $6.5 million investment to resurface more than eight miles of US-23 between South Point Lookout Road and Dyer Road near the county line.

DNR offers off-road accessibility chairs The Michigan Department of Natural Resources, DNR, is currently seeking sponsorship for its track chairs, which enable limited-mobility users to visit areas of state parks that conventional wheelchairs may not be able to access. The off-road, electronic chairs can easily handle trails, snow, sand and even up to 8 inches of water.
BAY CITY — Governor Gretchen Whitmer paid a visit to area students Monday, March 20 at the Bay-Arenac ISD Career Center in Bay City, to speak to them about college and trade school affordability. While there, she visited three classrooms and held a roundtable with students.

Marty Schultz is only three weeks away from an epic journey, as the 70-year-old Pinconning resident plans to hike the infamous Appalachian Trail beginning next month. His journey will begin April 15, a nod to his late mother’s birthdate, in Georgia.
