AU GRES — Au Gres City Council held its regular meeting on May 2 during which council discussed foreclosed properties that will be up for tax sale this year. The Arenac County Treasurer sent a list of properties to the council, including a boat slip in Harbortown and the lot next to Freakin' Pickles on US23. The City Council determined that they had no interest in these properties and recommended approving a waiver of claim.

City manager stresses need for volunteers AU GRES — City of Au Gres Manager Dale Wiltse is appealing to the community to step up and volunteer to help with the many events that take place throughout the year in Au Gres. With the shortage of future leaders to volunteer for these jobs, Wiltse is urging locals to come forward and become more active in their community.
Macey Fegan is the daughter of Keith and Alison Fegan of Bentley. Macey is graduating with a 4.214 GPA. She will be attending the University of Toledo to play basketball and obtain a degree in business. AU GRES — The opening day of the Au Gres farmers market's 2023 season has been slated for May 19. Every Friday until Sept. 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Au Gres Friday City Market will be held at Au Gres Riverside Park, located on US-23 in Au Gres.
Members of the Au Gres-Sims Science Olympiad team earned second and eighth place medals and placed in the top 25 in nine events during Division B of the Michigan Science Olympiad Tournament, held Saturday, April 22 at Michigan State University.
AU GRES — Resurfacing on US-23 in Au Gres began at the start of this week on Monday, April 17. The Michigan Department of Transportation, MDOT, announced a $6.5 million investment to resurface more than eight miles of US-23 between South Point Lookout Road and Dyer Road near the county line.
District Event was held at Standish-Sterling Jr./Sr. High School March 16–18. Charged Up, Presented by Haas Game Animation, is the name of the competition game for FIRST, For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, for 2023.
