The VFW Post and Auxiliary #3724 in Standish is currently hosting the Voice of Democracy, Patriotic Art, Patriot’s Pen, and Illustrating America scholarship events.High school students have the opportunity to express themselves through a recorded essay with a patriotic theme as part of the audio-essay program The Voice of Democracy.
The Iosco-Arenac District Library is currently hosting its Free Books by the Box Giveaway.Books are culled from the shelves of the eight branches of the Iosco-Arenac District Library, packed by the box, and are free to residents.Books are stored at the library headquarters at 120 Westover St.
The 20th Annual Depot Days was held at the Standish Historical Depot Welcome Center Saturday and Sunday, Oct.7-8.The happening included vendors, carnival rides, Horse drawn wagon rides, refreshments from the Hangry Bear food truck, raffles, and a silent auction to support the historical depot.
Halloween events that are both spooky and sweet will be happening all throughout October.
