Arenac County Commissioners address policies and projects

During the Arenac County Board of Commissioners Meeting of the Whole and regular meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 14, Treasurer Julie Hazeltine reported some operational changes, including the elimination of annual document binding, thanks to modern electronic archiving systems. These measures are projected to save money and support essential software upgrades, she said.

Indian tribe awards nearly $800,000 to Arenac County

During the Fall session of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan’s two percent distribution ceremony, the tribe distributed $1,051,302.29 to the community, including 14 municipalities in Arenac County, the Standish Area Fire Authority; Sterling Area Fire Department; Twining, Mason, Turner Fire Department; Au Gres-Sims School District, and the Standish-Sterling School District.
