AGS schools to seek approval for $11.995-million bond
Au Gres-Sims residents will be asked to vote on a millage proposal for the Au Gres-Sims School District this August. The proposal will build on the success of the 2018 bond initiative and include a 1.5 mill increase, according to the district. The main purpose is to generate funds to repair outdated infrastructure components, improve visitor and athlete safety at the stadium, and build a state-of-the-art, year-round community center (air dome).

Forest Lake wildfire origin remains under investigation
MDNR's Law Enforcement Division is investigating the wildfire that burned more than 35 acres and destroyed what is estimated to be more than $500,000 of personal property in the Forest Lake area of northern Arenac County Sunday, April 13.
