Michigan State University Extension 4-H Youth Development is offering a video contest to encourage youth to join 4-H.

Now that fall has arrived and people are preparing to bundle up as winter approaches, area residents are being asked to consider donating any winter coats their children or grandchildren no longer wear to help those in need.The annual Coats for Kids program of The Salvation Army is currently in full swing, and locations across the country, including one in Standish, are requesting donations of winter coats and jackets for families who cannot afford proper winter attire.Coats for Kids will be distributed at the Northeast Art Center, 3233 Grove Street Road, on two Saturdays, Oct.
