The Bay Area Community Foundation (BACF) has announced the 11th annual Give Local Bay (GLB) presented by LiUNA Local 1098, a 24-hour fundraising event on Tuesday, May 6, benefiting over 50 nonprofits in Bay and Arenac Counties.
The Arenac VFW Post #3724 and Auxiliary will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m. Among other things, the Post and Auxiliary will discuss the Loyalty Day Parade, which will take place in Standish at 12 p.m. on April 26. Parade line up will be on Industrial Park Road at 11 a.m.

An annual auction that helps fund art and entertainment in Standish will be held this Saturday. The Northeast Michigan Arts Council’s 40th Annual Auction will be held Saturday, April 12, beginning at 10 a.m. sharp at the Northeast Art Center in Standish, 3233 Grove Street Road.
The Mary Johnston Memorial Library, 114 N. Street in Standish, has updated hours for the summer. The library is open from 12 - 7.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
This year, Give Local Bay’s 2025 24-hour fundraising will take place on Tuesday, May 6. Each year, the Bay Area Community Foundation coordinates a fundraising drive that benefits over 50 non-profit groups in Arenac and Bay counties.
