The 2024 music series in Standish and Au Gres will soon come to life, as the weekly schedule for Standish and Au Gres’ Summer Concert Series has been set.Au Gres’ Summer Concert Series will be held Wednesdays, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Many of you may have seen my column in the March 28 edition, which discussed an area shelter dog named Gideon, who was the longest-serving resident in history at the Saginaw County Animal Care and Control.

On Thursday, May 9, members of the Rotary Club of Pinconning and Standish heard a presentation by Central Michigan University graduate student Mary Benjamin on her Master’s degree program in conservation biology, part of which is focused on marsh birds in the Saginaw Bay region, particularly Virginia Rails and Soras.Her research has been funded largely by the E.P.A.
