Wolverines Baseball falls in district final

The Au Gres-Sims Baseball team ended their season on Friday after losing to Alcona 17-1 in the district final game.In the district semifinal, the Wolverines exploded, offensively toppling Charlton Heston, 19-12, following a four-hit day by Tyler Zaherniak.“Tyler hit the ball hard and hit it consistently,” Au Gres-Sims assistant coach, Chad Zeien said.

Moffat Township breaks ground on Fire Hall expansion

Moffat Township officials gathered Monday morning to break ground on a long-awaited expansion to its fire hall, a facility that has hosted fire department, emergency medical services, and the township’s municipal operations for approaching a decade.“It’s taken altogether five years to get here,” said township clerk and firefighter Stefanie Kernstock.
