Activity in the 81st Judicial District Court has resulted in the following:Gabriel Clifton-John Metzger, of Standish, for transporting/possessing loaded gun in vehicle, hunt/shoot from safety zone and hunt from vehicle: sentenced to one day in jail, one day credited, 30 hours community service and $1,285 FC.Dayne Michael Lutz, of Twining, for attempted assault/resist/obstruct police: sentenced to 12 days in jail, one day credited, 11 days to be served and $995 FC.Alyshia Nicole Tilly, of Prudenville, for controlled substance use – narcotic/cocaine: sentenced to 18 days in jail, one day credited, 17 days to be served, 12 months’ probation and $1,860 FC.Chelsee Lynn Tebedo, of Sterling, for failure to pay and failure to appear: sentenced to four days in jail, one day credited, three days to be served and $1,060 FC.Jasmine Mikala Ion Flowers, of Flint, for contempt of court and permitting an unlicensed person to drive/violation of motor vehicle code: sentenced to 11 days in jail, 11 days credited and $715.82 FC.Michael Alphonso Bustamante, of Standish, for failure to appear: sentenced to 19 days in jail, 19 days credited and $1,353.82 FC.Jacob Scot Miller, of Pontiac, for contempt of court and operating a motor vehicle while license suspended/revoked/denied: sentenced to three days in jail, three days credited and $645 FC.Jeremy William French, of Haslett, for failure to appear: sentenced to three days in jail, three days to be served and $100 FC.Destiny Marie Lorenz, of Sterling, for failure to appear and failure to pay: sentenced to four days in jail, two days credited, two days to be served and $1,549.38 FC.Alicia Marie Woods, of Bay City, for failure to appear and failure to pay: sentenced to eight days in jail, eight days credited and $1,262 FC.

Last week, a free, family-friendly, community festival in Standish featured vendors, face painting, balloon animals, a bouncy house, games, and information from local businesses and organizations.Hosted by Paramount Rehabilitation Services, McLaren Standish Family Medicine, and the Central Michigan Health Department, the Kickoff to Summer Health Safety Day was held Thursday, May 30 from 1-4 p.m.

 This year, as Pinconning celebrates the annual Pinconning CheeseTown Challenge Race and Festival June 21-22, Wilson’s Cheese Shoppe in Pinconning celebrates its 85th year as a family-owned business.In 1915, Dan Horn, a Russian immigrant who resided in Pound, Wisconsin and a cheesemaker by trade, moved to Pinconning and created his signature item, Old-Fashioned Pinconning Cheese.
