Library receives blood pressure monitoring equipment

Michelle Tacey, Manager of the Omer Little Eagles Nest Library, applied for and received an American Heart Association grant recently that allows for the purchase of blood pressure monitors that can be used by patrons and area residents.The American Heart Association offered up to $10,000 to support rural Midwest libraries in their ability to be change agents for community health.“Around the country, we have helped rural libraries address blood pressure control, improve nutrition security, assist with CPR readiness, and more,” American Heart Association said.“Small grants of $500-$1,500, along with technical assistance from the American Heart Association will often be sufficient to make a sustainable impact.”Omer has purchased seven monitors.
