A Junque and Bake Sale, hosted by the Arenac County Historical Society, will be held this Friday and Saturday, April 4-5 at Ye Olde Courthouse in Omer, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. each day. Friday and Saturday, April 4 & 5, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Out and About

The Sterling Sportsmen’s Association will host its Kids Sucker Fishing Contest on Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on the banks of the Rifle River.

Celebrating 10 years

We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary last Friday, March 21. It’s hard to believe 10 years have passed since we walked down the aisle. Time seems to have flown by, and yet, when I look back, it feels like a lifetime ago.

Beware of post-storm scams

Michigan residents are being reminded to watch out for common post-storm scams, as communities across Michigan continue cleanup and repairs following severe weather. Over the weekend, severe thunderstorms and high winds swept across the Lower Peninsula, while parts of Northern Michigan were hit with an ice storm.

Arenac County farm still going strong after 127 years

Courtney Rolfe is a fifth-generation farmer from Arenac Township. The farm has been operating since 1892. It had been the Hagley dairy farm for 127 years before the decision was made in 2019 to sell the milk cows and start farming organic crops.
