Sawdust was flying at sites across northern Michigan as Department of Natural Resources and Michigan National Guard crews worked together throughout various counties, to clear vital areas of trees downed by the massive weekend ice storm.

An annual auction that helps fund art and entertainment in Standish will be held this Saturday. The Northeast Michigan Arts Council’s 40th Annual Auction will be held Saturday, April 12, beginning at 10 a.m. sharp at the Northeast Art Center in Standish, 3233 Grove Street Road.
The Mary Johnston Memorial Library, 114 N. Street in Standish, has updated hours for the summer. The library is open from 12 - 7.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
