The Arenac County Funds Committee has announced the results of its 14th Annual Trivia Challenge. Event Chairman Ronda Switek reported the fundraiser netted $9,921, which is earmarked for the ACF Scholarship Fund held at the Bay Area Community Foundation.
“It’s a little less than last year due to the weather, but those who did make it had a great time,” Switek said.
The evening was filled with fun, food, prizes, and 20 challenging categories. With 15 teams competing for the top rankings, the “Court Jesters” broke a tie and came out on top with a score of 71 out of a possible 100. Second place was claimed by the “I am Smarticus” team with a score of 70 points. The third-place winning team “The Bored Gamers” came in at 66 points.
“We are very grateful for all who attended and supported us – our sponsors, players, workers, and a special thank you to Mr. Josh Klee from Pinconning who served as our emcee, Wilk Entertainment for the sound and video equipment and the school’s maintenance crew for getting the parking lot cleared of snow,” Switek added.
Committee Chair Tara Marczak said, “Since the inception of the Scholarship Fund in 2008, the ACF committee has awarded $179,000 to 218 Arenac County High School students and one adult. Scholarship applications are available on the 1st of November and close on the first Monday of February. The 2025 awardees will be announced in May by the Bay Area Community Foundation.”
