Camp sets annual fish race fundraiser

The non-profit all accessible camp in Pinconning, Camp Fish Tales, will host its 8th Annual Fish Races on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner served at 5:30 p.m. and race time at 6:30 p.m.

The camp has also selected its honorary chairs this year: Scott and Kellie Staszak.

“Scott and Kellie are dedicated advocates for children and young adults with developmental disabilities,” Camp Fish Tales said.

“With a deep commitment to fostering growth and independence, they founded Game Changer Therapy Services in 2016 to provide tailored therapeutic programs that engage young clients through their unique interests. Their mission is clear: to help children and young adults reach their fullest potential and enhance their quality of life through innovative and integrated therapy solutions.”

“Together, Game Changer Therapy Services and Camp Fish Tales create a powerful synergy, embodying the values of friendship, inclusion, and personal growth that are essential for meaningful transformation,” the camp explained.

Attendees of the annual fish races fundraiser will be able to enjoy a fish dinner while cheering on their favorite fish, as they race on a custom track. With odds for each fish, participants can place bets on business or family-sponsored fish and experience the thrill of the races.

Admission is $25 per person and includes dinner and the races. The event is BYOB. Must be 18 to attend and place bets. Tickets are available at campfishtales.org or by calling 989-879-5199. All proceeds from the annual fundraiser will benefit Camp Fish Tales programming, scholarships, and camp maintenance.

Camp Fish Tales is a barrier-free, all accessible camp located on 67 acres on the corner of Erickson and Old State Road, between Pinconning and Linwood. It serves individuals of all ages, with varying types of disabilities.
