Died Nov. 22, 2018


Wanda L. McTaggart, 91, of Sterling passed away peacefully Nov. 22, 2018, at Ascension Standish Hospital following a lingering illness.

She was born in Alger on March 7, 1927, to the late Willard and Mary (Mathe) Dunn. She married John R. McTaggart on Aug. 14, 1944; he preceded her in death Aug. 1, 2006. Wanda and John worked together farming and raising a family on the family farm in Sterling. She enjoyed gardening in her beautiful flower beds, watching the hummingbirds, playing cards, working on puzzles and making Swedish weaves. Her family will cherish the memory of her love of cooking, making sure no one went away hungry, and she always had cookies, fresh bread and John’s tea cup was full.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Kevin and Misty McTaggart, Jeremy and Jaimie McTaggart, Christopher and Melissa McTaggart, Arron Marshall and Sarah and Dean Fishel; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, James and Judy Dunn, Ernie and Betty Dunn and John and Laveta Dunn; and a son-in-law, Robert Marshall.

She was preceded in death by her children, John and Beverly (Cozart) McTaggart, Louise Marshall and an infant son; great-grandchildren, Katlyn and Faith McTaggart; two sisters, Kate Osborne and Grace DeHaan; and a brother, George Dunn.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Standish Chapel with Pastor John Tousciuk officiating and burial in Sterling Cemetery. Family will be present at the funeral home Sunday from 5-9 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. until time of services.
