ARENAC COUNTY — For Memorial Day residents of Arenac County will have several ways to honor the fallen and deceased who have served our country.

Au Gres will first host its Memorial Day parade May 26 at 1 p.m. Lineup will begin at 12:15 at the city docks, and the parade will head down US-23 from Water Street and end at Au Gres-Sims school, where a program will be conducted. Cash prizes will be given for the top three floats, and kids who decorate and ride their bikes in the parade will receive a free ice cream cone coupon. Call 989-876-6688 to enter the parade or for more information.

The Arenac County Veterans of Foreign Wars will then host a parade in Standish May 27 at noon, starting at Airpark Drive and traveling down M-61 to the Arenac County Building, where a short ceremony will take place. Lineup will begin at 11:30 a.m.
