Standish-Sterling offers free food pickup during school shutdown period

STANDISH— Standish-Sterling Community Schools are distributing meals to children ages 18 and under and IEP students up to age 26. Pickup days are March 26, 30, and April 2. (This program started Thursday, March 19.)

According to Principal Gary Roper, 45 meals were distributed two minutes into their start time at the Arenac Community Center. 

Distribution is offered at numerous locations, including the Arenac Community Center parking lot from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., the high school from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Sterling Elementary from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Alger Catholic Church from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Mary’s Country Corners in Melita from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m., Turner bus stop at the post office from 10:30 p.m. to 11 a.m., Arenac Eastern from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Omer Library from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m., Bentley ball field from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., and White’s Beach Rd. from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
