Posted

STANDISH — Standish-Sterling Central seniors Shay Sullivan and Isabel Niernberg signed letters of intent to play softball for the Albion College Brits and the Delta College Pioneers respectively Thursday, Feb. 21.

Both Sullivan and Niernberg helped bring the Panthers to district finals in the 2018 season, and they said they felt fortunate to be supported by their parents, coaching staff and teammates along the way.

“I can’t wait to start this new experience of playing softball,” Sullivan said. “To be able to play at the college level is such an exciting experience. I’ve worked so hard for this and I’m so happy to have this opportunity.”

“I never really thought I would have this opportunity and to go and try out with the team and see how they work,” Niernberg said. “It was really an eye-opener. I can’t wait to join the Delta Pioneer team in the fall.”
