Roy Wesley Harrison, of Bay City, Michigan, formerly of Twining, Michigan, went to meet his Savior on May 14, 2020.

He was born to Ethel and Charles Harrison on September 22, 1929 in Arenac County and grew up in Atlanta, Michigan. Roy served in the U.S. Navy before meeting his bride, Ruth Thiede at an Arthur Murray Dance Studio. They were wed on December 29, 1954 and have been married 65 years.

Roy was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Prescott, Michigan. Roy's careers have included truck driving, dairy farming and selling insurance. Actively involved in the community, he organized numerous working bees and fundraisers for the Melita Recreation Association. He previously served as an Arenac County Commissioner. Roy was a man of many hobbies, and as such was known as the maple syrup man to many. He loved fishing, gardening, making wine and berry picking (from which he'd gleaned many a pie!). He was a people person and a friend to many. His greatest pride and passion was his family. It would be impossible to count all the sporting events, concerts, etc., he attended in support of his children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren over the years.

He will be greatly missed by his family but his legacy will certainly live on through those he leaves behind, which include his wife, Ruth; sons, Sam, Walt (Dawn) and Craig (Carol) Harrison, and daughter, Becky (Gary) Morgan; 10 grandchildren, Travis (Jackie), Troy (Bri), Derek (Ashley), Patrick (Annie), Brendan (Kennedi Thomas) and Morgan Harrison, Garret (Ashley Martin) Morgan, Leslie (Scott) Kenney, Emily (Patrick) Morgan-Booth and Claire (Daniel) Morgan-Heredia; 18 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Bill and Chuck Harrison, and sister, Mildred Marks.

Roy reunites with those who've gone before, his parents, Ethel and Charles Harrison, and daughter-in-law, Sandy Harrison.

The family is especially grateful to Bay Medical Care Facility for providing excellent tender loving care to Roy in recent months.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Roy's life will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers, consider memorial contributions to Faith Lutheran Church or Bay County Medical Care Facility. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Lee Ramsay Funeral Home-STANDISH CHAPEL.
