Richard D. Weishuhn, 73, passed away unexpectedly Aug. 12, 2019, in Wilmington, N.C.

He was born in West Branch on Jan. 10, 1946, to Richard E. and Phyllis (Black) Weishuhn. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Karen (Sadlak) Weishuhn; daughters, Lisa (Brad) McDowell of Wilmington, N.C., and Trisha (Dave) Goble of Granite Falls, N.C. He left behind his beloved grandchildren, Isaiah, Bennett and Clara McDowell and Brady and Olivia Goble.

He was an avid sports fan and loved his family dearly. He never missed a game, a birth or an important event in his family’s lives. He loved his small hometown of Standish and the people in it. He left a piece of his heart in Michigan when he and Karen moved to North Carolina to be closer to their children.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home in Standish, with burial in Sterling Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Friday, Aug. 16, from 3-8 p.m. On Saturday Rick will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
