Lefa “Lee” Protasiewicz, 79, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully March 3, 2019, at her home with her loving family by her side following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born June 15, 1939, in Royal Oak to the late John and Dorothy (Carroll) Sullivan. She married Robert on Aug. 24, 1957. He predeceased her Aug. 22, 2013. Lee held numerous jobs such as working for Standish Products, Waco Manufacturing and Pinny Food Center, but in the later years she was a wonderful caregiver to many in the local area. Lee enjoyed rummaging, shopping and going on lunch dates but most of all spending time camping with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Kathy Johnson, Denise (Tom) Johnson, Randy Protasiewicz and Rich Protasiewicz; grandchildren, Jamie (Kevin) Rhine, Shawn (Carrie) Protasiewicz, Brandon (Danielle) Johnson and Logan Glaspell Protasiewicz; great-grandchildren, Alivia, Hudson, Paige, Hayden, Kelsey, Trenton, Reese, Luke, Sami and Clay; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Kathy Stodolak.

Lee was predeceased by her husband; and a son, Rob.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at 10 a.m. at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Standish Chapel with burial in Mount Forest Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral chapel Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. On Wednesday, friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Compasses Hospice and its staff for the compassionate care given to their mother.

Words fail to capture the pain of loosing a loved one. May you find comfort in knowing that Lee is safe in the memory of God, who will heal her and bring her back.
