Larry Nagy

Died July 13, 2019


Larry Nagy, 64, passed away Saturday July 13, 2019, with his loving family by his side, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Larry was born Aug. 26, 1954, to the late Joe and June (Marsh) Nagy in Bay City. Larry was a graduate of Standish-Sterling Central High School, Delta College and Ferris State University. He was employed as an industrial arts teacher at Bay-Arenac Career Center, Averill Career Center and Western High School. After Larry’s teaching career, he worked as a security guard and a slot technician at Saganing Eagles Landing Casino. Throughout his life, Larry’s greatest passion was working at his family’s business, Rifle River Campground and Canoe Livery, which he was part-owner of. Larry had a great love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and operating his heavy machinery. Larry’s greatest hobby was his Mopars, AMCs and going to car shows with his son Dylan.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Jeannine (Miller) Nagy; son, Dylan, and stepson, Jeremy Adams; his sisters, Laurie (Jim) Richardson and Kim (Matt) Koin; mother-in-law, Rosemary Miller; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Fred (Rita) Miller, Patti Karbowski, Marilyn Sabo, Marty Schman, Judy (Dave) Rajewski, Jim (April) Miller and Kathy Miller; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother and father; father-in-law, Arnold Miller; brother-in-law, Gary Miller; sister-in-law, Joann Schman; brother-in-law, Raymond Sabo; and niece, Sherry Sabo.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Standish Chapel at 2 p.m. with burial in Clayton Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

The family would like to send a special thank you to McLaren Hospice for the love and care they gave to Larry and his family.
