Joan M. (Raymond) Gay

Died Sept. 14, 2019

Joan Marie (Raymond) Gay, 82, passed away Sept. 14, 2019, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Joan moved from Standish to Westminster, Colo., six years ago to live with her daughter Cyndi Bailiff Diblik and son-in-law Bernd after her diagnosis.

She was born May 4, 1937, to Rollie and Irma Raymond of Standish. She had five children with her first husband Edmond Bailiff, and they remained friends throughout their lives, including his wife Sheila Bailiff.

Joan was an avid gardener, loved to laugh and enjoyed a career as a bookkeeper for the Carol Ann’s Dance Studio. She was blessed to be surrounded by good friends and family all of her life.

Joan is survived by her children, Cyndi Bailiff (Bernd) Diblik of Colorado, Dean (Christine) Bailiff of Florida and Scott Bailiff of Michigan and a stepson Robin Gay. She is also survived by her much-loved grandchildren, Brandi Bailiff (Kevin) Flannery, Madeline Bailiff, Emily Bailiff, Joshua Bailiff and her beloved “Raymond” nieces and nephews. Lastly, her best friend, Pat Box, who remained loving and supportive throughout her disease.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Bailiff; daughter, Kim Bailiff; husband, Leonard Gay; and her two brothers and their wonderful wives, Clarence (Kate) Raymond and Clyde (Ilene) Raymond.

Joan’s wishes were to be cremated and buried alongside her parents in Standish. Any donations on behalf of Joan should go to the Alzheimer’s Association. A celebration of her life in both Colorado and Michigan will be planned for later dates.
