DDA approves funds to distribute decorated trees to downtown businesses.

STANDISH— The Standish Downtown Development Authority approved money to allow Standish-Sterling high school art students decorate trees for local businesses.

DDA chairman, Curt Hillman, said, “the DDA has approved money to have the art students at the high school create something we did years ago, something that looks like a Charlie Brown tree.”

They will provide trees and lights for the students to design and distribute to various businesses for them to plug in and light up downtown in the holiday season.

Hillman, said, “the art students were contacted so I’m assuming the next couple weeks or so (the trees will go out).”
