Arenac County Flood Warning

ARENAC COUNTY— Nonstop rain has caused many roads in Arenac County to flood. According to the Sheriff’s department, they are going door to door on Townline Rd east of Grove St. to evacuate residents due to flooding on the road. According to the department, Townline will soon be impassable. 

According to the Arenac County Central Dispatch, Fire and Road patrol are heading out to the Townline area as well as Knight rd east of Grove, Franklin, Miller and other areas of Pinnacle Park, to assist evacuating residents.

The Sheriff’s department has said to avoid Sterling Road near Gaslight Trail, East of Sterling and motorists should be cautious on Main Street due to reports of flooding on the road. 

US-23 in Omer is closed and should be avoided. M-13 is closed from the connector at US-23 south to Pinconning due to issues with the bridges and impassable roadways. 

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the area and warned motorists to be on the lookout for water in low-lying areas and to be cautious at night as the flooding is harder to see.
