Adolph ‘Jerry’ Derocher Jr.

Died May 27, 2019


Adolph “Jerry” Derocher Jr., 90, of Alger passed away Monday, May 27, 2019.

He was born May 21, 1929, in Flint to the late Adolphus and Emma (Salois) Derocher.

Jerry is survived by his three children, Mary (David) Durocher, Gerald (Michelle) Derocher and Diane (Rose) Derocher; his grandchildren, David, Christopher, Jennifer, Sarah, Kyle, Heather and Garrett; and great-grandchildren, Matthew, Benjamin, Natalie, Conner, Colton and Logan. Jerry is also survived by eight siblings, Jeanette McCoy, Eva Reder, Ann Shaw, Bernadette (Paul) Douponce, Donald (Dot) Derocher, William (Mary Jo) Derocher and Christine (Floyd) Taylor.

He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Doris (Murphy); and three siblings, Theresa Penkala, Lucille O’Connor and Bernard Derocher.

A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church, Standish, with the Rev. Father David Parsch officiating. The family will greet family and friends from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. at the church. Inurnment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.

Those considering an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Heartland Hospice of West Branch, Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church or the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3724, Standish.
