SSC swimmers take Pentathlon top spots

The Standish-Sterling Swimming and Diving Team is officially back in action. The Lady Panthers swam in the Pentathlon at John Glenn High School Pool in Bay City Aug. 16.

Varsity swim coach Shawn Maison said his team did not disappoint on the medal stand, taking three of the top 25 spots out of over 100 swimmers from eight teams.

SSC finished second overall to John Glenn, earning 121 Team Points. Scarlet Maison won her third pentathlon title with a perfect score of 100 points, sweeping all five events.

Two more swimmers finished in the top 25. Paige Vallad finished 14th overall with 19 points, while Leah Ferns finished 22nd.

“We have two weeks to train before our next dual meet and are looking forward to another successful season,” Coach Maison said.
