Singers wanted as Choraleers rehearsals begin

Posted

STANDISH — Weekly rehearsals for the Arenac Choraleers are scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m., and people who like to sing are welcome to attend and join the choir.

According a press release from the Northeast Michigan Arts Council, there are no auditions.

“Anyone who enjoys singing is invited to join this popular chorus — especially bass and tenor voices, as the group is always seeking additional men or women who sing in these lower ranges,” the press release states.

The choraleers practice at the Standish-Sterling Central High School auditorium each Monday leading up the group’s Christmas concerts, which are scheduled for Dec. 3 and Dec. 10 in West Branch and Standish, respectively.

Current choral members hail from Arenac, Bay, Gladwin, Iosco, Ogemaw and Saginaw counties, the press release states.

The Choraleers are directed by Pamela Proulx and accompanied on piano by Barbara LaRose. For more information, call 989-846-9331 or visit nemiac.org.
