No injuries in Standish Township house fire


STANDISH TWP. — A fire at a residence Wednesday, Aug. 9, in the 4500 block of Lentz Road in Standish Township was contained to the house’s south end, resulting in no injuries.

Standish Area Fire Authority Chief Mitch Oliver said the fire appeared to have originated from an exterior light attached on the house’s south side. The home suffered minor fire damage, as well as smoke and water damage.

The incident was reported at 11:29 a.m. and firefighters cleared the scene at approximately 12:41 p.m.

The Arenac County Sheriff’s Department assisted with traffic control at the fire.
