Linda A. McGivern

Died Feb. 15, 2018


Linda A. McGivern, 95, of Au Gres passed away peacefully Thursday morning, Feb. 15, 2018, at Linwood Residence in Linwood with her daughter by her side.

Linda was born Feb. 6, 1923, in Beaver Township to the late Otto and Elsie (Jammer) Pacholke. She married Thomas McGivern on May 21, 1943, and together they raised four children, James, Wayne, Lynn and Sally. Linda was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Au Gres, a member of the Ladies Aid at St. John and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8275 of Au Gres. She enjoyed cooking and sewing.

Linda is survived by her children, James (Arlene) McGivern, Lynn (Patricia) McGivern and Sally Emme-Dice; daughter-in-law, Kelly McGivern; grandchildren, Kelly, Amy, Lori, Kim, Starr, Brad, Michael, Jennifer, Micky, T.J., Mary, Derek and Trisha; great-grandchildren, Tabatha, Sean, Hope, Brad, Destiny, Zachary, Chance, Jacob, Jeremy and Kelsey; great-great-grandchilren, Serenity, Adrianna, Leah, Lelan, Vivenne, Gavin, Alexis, Bradley, Zoey, Oliver and one great-great-granddaughter expected soon; sister, Norma Cramer; sisters-in-law, Hazel Weekley, Marge Anderson and Jean Pacholke; brother-in-law, Joseph McGivern; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, on March 12, 2017; son, Wayne McGivern; son-in-law, R. David Emme; brothers, Fred and Richard Pacholke; sisters, Lana Colclasure and Vera White; brother-in-law, Micky McGivern; and sisters-in-law, Betty, June, Arlene and Louise.

Visitation for Linda will take place 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, at St. John Lutheran Church, 206 N. Court St., Au Gres. Christian burial service will begin at 1 p.m. at the church with Pastor Frederick T. Cordts officiating. Interment will follow in Linwood Cemetery in Au Gres. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church Building Fund. Online condolences may be offered at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
