Ellen L. Larzelere

Died Feb. 25, 2018

Ellen Lucille Larzelere, 100, of Standish passed away Feb. 25, 2018, at The Horizon Senior Living, Standish, with family at her side.

Ellen was born Dec. 26, 1917, in Detroit to August and Ida (Spietz) Miller. She married James Albert Larzelere on Oct. 5, 1962, in East Tawas.

Ellen along with her husband Jim owned and operated a fruit orchard and chicken and egg farm in Twining. They not only sold many types of fruit and pressed their own apple cider in the fall, but the chickens produced enough eggs that Ellen and Jim had a route to sell the eggs locally from Tawas to Twining. Ellen was a Sunday school teacher and a life member of the Eastern Star East Tawas chapter.

Ellen is survived by 22 loving nieces and nephews including Monte and Ruth (Kopaczewski) Gulvas of Standish.

She was preceded in death by her husband; stepdaughter; her parents; and seven siblings, Adelbert Miller, Vivian Kauffman, Kathleen Engel, Mae Kopaczewski, Shirley Stec, Paul Miller and Daniel Miller.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Chapel. Funeral services for Ellen will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Chapel, Standish.

Ellen’s family is thankful for the excellent care provided by the staff at The Horizon Senior Living of Standish.
