Young named managing editor

Eric Young, News Editor of the Ogemaw County Herald, Friday was named managing editor for all four newspapers owned by Sunrise Printing & Publishing, Inc. In that capacity, Young will be responsible for all newsgathering efforts at each newspaper and their on-line Web sites.

The announcement was made by Publisher Robert Perlberg.

“Eric has done an outstanding job at the Ogemaw County Herald and it only makes sense to put him in a leadership position at the other papers as well,” said Perlberg. “We have a great news team at each paper and this move will just aid us in all working together even better.”

Young began working at the Ogemaw County Herald as a reporter in November 2007, and was named News Editor in the spring of 2008. He and his wife Kay live in West Branch.

The other Sunrise newspapers are the Arenac County Independent in Standish, the Oscoda County Herald in Mio, and the Roscommon County Herald-News in Roscommon.
