Wolverines improve to .500 with win over Atlanta

ATLANTA — AuGres-Sims overcame a lackluster effort Friday to improve to .500 on the season with a 47-34 victory at Atlanta.

The Wolverines, who led 25-16 at the half, shot 34 percent from the floor but just 27 percent (7-of-27) at the free throw line, keeping the game closer than it otherwise might have been.

The victory improved the Wolverines to 7-7 for the year (5-5 in North Star League play), the latest they've been at .500 since the 2005-6 season.

Chad Taylor scored 13 points, while Kyle Gingerich added 11 and Travis Byard eight for the Wolverines.

Kevin Haren scored nine and Lucas Eising added seven for the Huskies (3-10, 2-8).
