WHITTEMORE — Whittemore Speedway will host its end-of-the-season invitational this Friday and Saturday.

According to Justin Sharp from the speedway, practice will be held Friday night, with racing at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

He said camping will be available at the track during the weekend.

Classes will include limited late models, modifieds, factory stocks, lead sleds, mini stocks and go-karts.

“Go-karts are something that haven’t been on the track for years,” Sharp said. Sharp said the invitational typically closes the season out every year, and includes more racing than a normal night.

“We run a lot more laps than what we normally do,” he said. “It’s our sendoff for the season. It’s normally a pretty big deal.”

Both the late models and modifieds will run 50-lap features.

Sharp encouraged people to attend.

“It’s family fun, and reasonably priced entertainment,” he said.

Tickets are $15 for adult grandstand admission, with kids and seniors $8. Children five and younger are free.
