What we’re reading today: Red Wings season opener, president to act on guns and streaming TV service to roll out nationwide

Here are some stories that have caught our eye today:

-The Detroit Free Press reports today that the Detroit Red Wings’ abbreviated season looks to begin Jan. 19 in St. Louis against the Blues, with the home opener coming Jan. 24 or 25. However, none of that is official yet.

-The Huffington Post reports that Vice President Joe Biden said Wednesday that he and the president plan to take action regarding gun-safety in the U.S.

-CNN is reporting that tech startup Aereo is looking to bring its streaming television service nationwide. Aereo allows its customers to live-stream television from over-the-air channels, as well as record them for later viewing.
