Here are a few stories that we’re reading today:
-For Detroit Lions fans, imagining life without Calvin Johnson is hard. But as the Detroit Free Press reports on a report from Sports Illustrated’s Peter King, Minnesota Vikings All-Pro running back Adrian Peterson might have been a Lion if Johnson wasn’t available in the 2007 draft.
-In other state news, the Detroit Free Press reports Gov. Rick Snyder signed a new emergency manager bill into law today, which has been the subject of much debate.
-USA Today reports that first-time unemployment claims are at their lowest nationwide figure since March 2008.
-And just when you thought the parking lot was the most dangerous place at a shopping mall, CNN has video of shoppers at a mall in China who were injured when a shark tank at the mall broke open.
