WHITTEMORE — Pinconning's Casey Pashak scored 17 first-half points as the Spartans rolled to a 36-10 halftime lead at Whittemore-Prescott on the way to a 61-36 NEMC boys’ basketball victory.

With just five players left from the Cards' opening-day roster, W-P coach Bob Leslie called up three players from the junior varsity for the game. They scored nearly half of the Cards' points, with Zack Morgan leading all of W-P's scorers with 9 points. Kevin Dupuis added seven. W-P dropped to 2-15 (0-8 NEMC) with the loss.

Pashak led the Spartans (13-4, 8-0) with 19 points, with Lucas Foco adding 11.
