WP looks to prepare for District’s with win over Owls

WHITTEMORE — Whittemore-Prescott's girls’ basketball team avenged an earlier defeat to Oscoda on Tuesday, topping the Owls 59-32.

The Cardinals had five players score in a 23-point second quarter as they built a 35-16 halftime lead.

Cory Durham had 15 points, eight rebounds and four blocks, Emily Forton added 14 points and five assists while Staci Ostrander had nine points and eight rebounds as W-P improved to 2-17.

Abby Samotis led Oscoda (3-15) with 13 points and Heather Patterson added nine.
