GLADWIN - Dec. 2, 2008 - Whittemore-Prescott dropped its opening game of the new girls basketball season 64-37 at Gladwin on Tuesday.
A 27-4 second quarter provided most of the difference as the Cards fell behind 41-10 at the half. W-P was mostly done in by 30 turnovers.
"When you have as many turnovers as points," said W-P coach Jeff Miller, "that is not usually going to be good."
Cortney Bork scored 21 points to lead the Cardinals, including nine of W-P's 10 first half points. She also hit three of the Cards' four 3-pointers on the night.
Kayla Camp added seven points and Cory Durham added six points, six rebounds and six blocks.
