OSCODA — The W-P Lady Cards didn’t play their best volleyball this weekend as they posted a 2-6 record at the Oscoda Invitational.

In the first match-up, W-P lost to host Oscoda 23-25 and 19-25.

The second match saw W-P play NEMC rival Ogemaw Heights. W-P lost its matches, 13-25 and 14-25.

The Lady Cards got on the winning side of things when they played AuGres-Sims. After a close first game (25-21), W-P put together its best game of the tournament as they won the second game 25-10.

In its final match of the afternoon, W-P was defeated by Standish-Sterling, 10-25 and 13-25.

Coach Helen Loomis wasn’t pleased with her team’s performance, but admitted some of her players have been sick throughout the week and may have been a factor in these games.

“It’s really frustrating, I felt we played flat and un-aggressive,” Loomis said. “Hopefully we can get our girls all healthy again, by next week, and play to our ability.”

W-P Stats: Cortney Bork – 24 digs; Kayla Camp – 8 points/4 aces/22 assists; Chelsea Jasman – 26 points/10 aces/6 block-kills/24 digs/13 spike-kills; Leighanna Loomis – 9 points/5 aces/18 digs/7 spike-kills; Larrissa McGeathy – 5 block-kills/11 spike-kills; Chloe Moraitis – 7 points/1 ace/21 digs; Brittnie Winkle – 8 points/1 ace.

W-P (0-4, 3-9) plays at Alcona on Sept. 22.
