UPDATED: OHHS kickers win high-scoring game with SSC
WEST BRANCH - Both teams netted a goal in the first minute of play, and when regulation time expired, nine more goals had been tallied, seven by Ogemaw Heights and two by Standish-Sterling Central.
Translation: Ogemaw Heights won, defeating Standish-Sterling Central 8-3 in a Northeast Michigan Conference boys high school soccer game Wednesday, Sept. 30.
OHHS led 4-2 at the half, but the Cardinals cut the margin to 4-3 early in the second half before Falcons pulled away.
Jordan Moore sparked the efficient OHHS offense by scoring five goals, Robbie Kish netted two, while Elliott Meiser tallied one.
Tanner Trombley scored two of the SSC goals, while Derek Williams netted one.
OHHS improved to 9-4-1 overall and 6-1 in the NEMC with the victory, while SSC slipped to 4-8 overall and 2-5 in the conference.
