UPDATED: Hale Spikers defeat AuGres-Sims
AUGRES -- Visiting Hale defeated AuGres-Sims 3-0 in high school volleyball Thursday, Sept. 10. The Eagles won by scores of 25-11, 25-17, 25-22.
Hale coach Heather Chrivia was pleased with her team's effort, especially the second game.
"We came out strong and had a goal in mind," Chrivia said. "In the past we seem to have a problem with two consistently played games in a row and we were striving to get two consistent games, and we did.
"The girls really came together and communicated a lot more then they have been lately."
Chrivia said that Laura Sidebottom, Kelsey Reilly, Stacey Eno, Halley Wolkens and Lindsay Weaver all played well at the net, both hitting and blocking.
The Eagles coach also noted that Shelby Rheins provided her team with a spark with her setting a passing.
She also praised the play of her freshmen.
"The freshman got a lot of playing time, especially during the third game where the freshman played almost the entire game," Chrivia said. "Liz Farrand put a kill on the board, Jessica LaBranche had a dig and some great passes off the serve, Vannessa Largent also contributed some good passes, and Lauren Moritz and Chelsie Wilson were strong on the net.
"I was really proud and impressed with everyone's performance, but we still have lots to work on and I look forward to continued improvement."
